What’s New @ Home
7/16/20
Dear PLAY Families,
Registration is now open for August PLAY @ Home with the option to add September. We would love to see you online : ). You can reserve your spot HERE. If you have a Spring 2020 class credit, we’ve made it easy to apply a portion of it to cover the cost of your membership when you enroll. (See everything that’s included.)
What’s New…
- During August & September in Zoom, we’ll be exploring four themes through music & movement, two weeks at a time, using material from across our entire curriculum. (The themes are HERE.) We love putting together themed classes, as we usually do twice a year for PLAY music SHORTS, and we know that presenting material thematically offers another layer of interest and learning for toddlers and preschoolers.
- New art-making content that we add to the web materials during August & September will expand on our music class themes.
- As always, PLAY music is a mixed-age program for kids from babyhood through preschool. As soon as we started online, we were happy to see many toddlers and PLAY alumni from the older end of our age range. Lately, we’ve been excited to also see a few more babies, and families who have never been to PLAY. If you have questions about using online materials with your baby, or about music classes in general, we are happy to help. Please visit our page of Zoom tips for young children and/or email us.
About the near future: As of now, we don’t see a scenario in which we’ll be able to return to in-person music classes soon. We do have some new things in the works, including a take-home art experience, and–at some point–some very limited offerings in the space. For music & movement, however, our plan for the summer and fall is to keep it online where we can remain consistent for you and your kids.
We’re grateful that it works–to see and to have heard from you that kids are learning from and enjoying our time together in Zoom, and that you’re using the web materials. We’re grateful for our team of teachers, who have been tireless and creative, and who continue to look for (and get excited about) new ways to engage. PLAY @ Home parents, we’re grateful to you for showing up every week and inspiring us with your enthusiasm, and for turning our online class into something your child may remember: a warm, in-person experience with you.
Please send us all of your questions. Thank you for your support of PLAY over the years & we hope to see you soon–
Anne & James
