To All Families
Resources for parents, donation drop-offs at SCM, scholarships & pay-what-you-can options, and classes still starting this week…
1/12/25
Dear Families,
We hope this finds you safe and well. With you, our hearts break for all of our fellow Angelenos who have lost their homes, businesses, and loved ones in the devastation of the fires.
A few things for this week…
Resource: Click HERE to visit Child Care Resource Center for an age-specific list of resources from the the National Child Traumatic Stress Network for helping children manage stress and trauma caused by the wildfires.
Donations drop-off: When they reopen on Monday morning (11am), Silverlake Conservatory of Music will be accepting donations of clothing, toiletries, non-perishable food items, and toys to be distributed to those in need. 4652 Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90027.
Classes & scholarships: Our winter session of music classes is starting on Tuesday as planned (schedule for mixed-age, 4s & 5s). We know that some schools and child care facilities may still be closed. While we don’t offer child care, we’ve opened all of our remaining parent-and-child class spots for single class enrollment for anyone needing a one-off indoor activity for this week. For pay-what-you-can spots, please contact us by phone: 323-988-1189. (Reservations are required for all spots.) As always, scholarships for the entire session are available through SCM in partnership with PLAY (scholarship info).
Please give us a call if we can be of help. We look forward to seeing some of you this week. Stay safe.
Anne & James
